The Red Sea Free Zone.

Location:

38 kms to the South of Port Sudan town.

Area:

600 kms – 26 kms are prepared as a first stage.

Date of Inauguration:

February 2000.

Cost of the implementation of the first stage:

US$ 12 millions.

Total Operating Investments:

US $ 45 millions.

The Investment Map:

Includes Several activities; such as:

41%  Industrial Activities.

15% Commercial Activities.

44% service Activities.

The preparation of export industries comes at the top of the set objectives.

The operating investments in the Zone:

-      The number of licences granted to investors is 415 licences. The commercial system forms a ratio of 80%. These include the import, export, re-export, and transit trade to neighbouring states.

-      The total invested area is 600,000 m2.

-      The industrial activity started to assume an important role, by the entry of some companies in the plastic products industry and some Sudanese exports processing industries; such as, gum Arabic and oil seeds (like sesame).For increasing the investment capacities, Dubai Islamic Bank implemented depots, by an area of 40,000m2, at high quality specifications.

Garri (Al-Gaili) Free Zone

Garri (Al-Gaili) Free Zone

Location:

70 Kms North of Khartoum the Capital

Area:

26 kms2 near the main station of petroleum refining.

The infrastructures are complete.

Date of Inauguration:

End of December 2004

Cost of the implementation of the first stage:

US$ 9 millions.

The Available Investment Opportunities:

-         Industrial investment and assembly industries.

-         Supporting services., logistic centres and distribution services.

-         Food industries trade centres.

-         Light transformational industries.

-         Packing and packaging requirements industry.

-         Petrochemicals and plastic products industry.

-         Financial and consultancy services.

The Free Port Project

The Free Port Project

 

Location:

Red Sea State

 

Objectives:

Expansion of sea transport vessels

 

Current Situation:

-         A study and preliminary indicators have been completed for the establishment of the port.

-         Specialized bodies have been contacted for preparing the technical and economic feasibility study; together with the detailed and  comprehensive plant.
